Why is are the Deluxe & Platinum Mods so costly?  It takes 4 times the power to accurately replicate low end frequencies & to truly make a great bass tone - you need top quality transformers. We replicated the original SVT Blue Line transformers and Mercury worked them into a package that would work for the SVT-VR. The results are the best bass tone since the original Blue Line's. 

What power tubes do you currently recommend?  We recommend the ARS-KT88's. We have experimented with many different power tubes but at present these are the most rugged & tone-full sounding power tubes for this amp.

What is your recommend starter setting?  This mainly comes down to personal preferance but Trace Davis prefers to plus the bass into the lower left hand input jack, set the Volume to approximately 10:00, Set all other EQ at 12:00, Bass Rocker Switch - Set to far left, Mid Rocker Switch - Set to middle position, Treble Rocker Switch set to far right.
