Good Monday Morning gang! The mighty whirlwind of Summer Namm is behind us & where do I begin? (lol) Please bear with me as my beloved coffee maker decided to stop working this fine morning (lol). We flew in from Nashville yesterday & are back in the shop this morning as I am typing this.

First & foremost it was amazing to meet so many of you in person for the very first time & to watch so many outstanding players come through the booth to test drive the amps! It’s truly humbling & I cannot possibly thank you enough for that, sincerely.

I have to thank our amazing team of people as without them this show would not have happened nor have been as successful as it was; Don Friedricksen, Matt Fenderson, Jessie Smith, Sean Monroe, Mike Oshetski, Jim Rotundo, Cindy Davis, John Stack, Jason Harlow, Steve Senes, James Kennedy & Russ Kanser! You guys rock & thank you for all the hard work!

Live Videos - For the first time ever we did a ‘Live’ Facebook video broadcast from the Namm Show Floor using an iPhone. For those who couldn’t tune in live the videos were saved & are available for you to check out on our Facebook pages. Stay tuned as we will be posting lots of photos of everyone coming through the booth!

I’ve been asked many times ‘How do you think the show went for you?’ That’s a dual fold answer & I’ll explain. The turn out was amazing & we were blessed that our booth was consistently busy the entire time but the honest truth is, I designed these amps for you to play on, for you to express yourself on & hopefully in some small way to inspire you when you are playing on them. A million thanks to each & every one of you!! – Trace Davis, President / Founder.

This amp was original manufactured for use in Europe & came with the male Bulgin AC receptacle for AC power as well as the Bulgin ‘Push-In’ connector for the AC voltage Selector & Speaker Impedance Selector.

The Speaker Impedance selector was very loose & too brittle to re-tension the sockets so we hard wired the amp for use with 8ohm or 16ohms cabinets. We also hard wired the amp for 120v use here in the States. We properly labeled the Speaker Jacks as well as the Fuse Holders, etc as the silk screening was wearing off, which is common on older 70’s Marshalls.

This amp had been through a couple of techs & was an amalgamation of a Super Bass meets a Super Lead. She was in need of some well deserved TLC & after a fair amount of clean up work, new Screen Grid resistors, improving the ground scheme, new power tubes, re-tensioning / cleaning the sockets, restoring it to a 1987 Super Lead circuit & restructuring the internal voltages, she sounds & feels amazing just like what you hear on the classic records!

She’s ready for active duty again & will provide years worth of amazing pro quality tone & will be featured on the up coming Red Dragon Cartel record featuring Jake E Lee!

Joe Perry’s Live Rig – Here’s a quick pic of amps we’ve worked on that are in Joe’s live rig on the current Hollywood Vampires tour. Amp on the left is the amp used on the marking of Aerosmith’s ‘Pump’ record ($395 for the Mod), amp on the right is 1 of 3 Super PA amps we over hauled-&-Modified for Aerosmith’s world tour last year. Both amps contain Master Volumes among other Mods.

Joe Perry Modded Tone Bender Pedal – Here’s a quick pic taken on stage of a Tone Bender Replica pedal that Trace had Modded several years back. Joe is using it in his live rig again on the Hollywood Vampires Tour. - “I used to Mod pedals many years ago & only do so on very rare occasions these days. I reviewed my original Mod Notes & it was given to us because it would squeal uncontrollably when turned on making it unusable. It was all hand wired with (3) germanium transistors. I was given car blanch so I voiced it to a schematic I had made of the best sounding Tone Bender pedal that I’d worked on years prior. I wasn't keen on the type of caps used so I changed all the cap types & tweaked the circuit so all the gain was usable. It came out sounding great & cuts through the mix extremely well.” Feel free to share as you like & send this link to a friend!
