A Piece of History – This rare Fender made in 1957 in the Fullerton, CA factory & is 58 years old. This is a ‘Champ’ model & is part of the Tweed-Era due to its tweed covering & is nearly bone stock. It recently came into our facility as it is needs a CapJob & the speaker needs some TLC. We wanted to quickly share this with you as we have always enjoyed vintage pieces like this - We hope you like seeing it too!
We have blue printed this amp so that we can offer the same great tone & feel to you! You can send us a Silver Faced Champ or Vibro Champ or we can build one for you from the ground up through our Custom Shop!
Pic 1 of 7 - Close up of the 58 year old Fender Tweed Champ. This amp's in pretty good shape with a little aging on the Tweed covering. There is a rear panel for it but it's not original so we'll 'relic' the rear panel to match the rest of the amp.
Pic 2 of 7 - Close up of the rear view of the Tweed 5F1 Champ circuit as it arrived to us. As you can see there is a 12AX7 preamp tube, 6V6 power tube and a GZ34/5AR4 rectifier tube in place of the stock 5Y3.
Pic 3 of 7 - Closer close up of the Tweed 5F1 Champ circuit. The stock filter caps are still presently in place. We have measured all of the caps, resistors & blue printed the amp in it's present form.
Pic 4 of 7 - Super close up for gear geeks like us (lol) of some circuitry. You can see the stock 'Astron' coupling caps & the 25uF bypass cap across the cathode resistor on the 1st stage, often not included on the 5F1 schematics.
Pic 5 of 7 - Close up of the 58 year old Fender Badge Logo from the Fullerton California Factory, such a great logo!
Pic 6 of 7 - Close up of the 58 year old Fender Factory Production Label, which is still intact over all the years.
Pic 7 of 7 - Fender Tweed Speaker close up, Note; this speaker was approved by the 'Department of Building & Safety in Los Angeles, CA'.
