Be sure to watch the end of the video! - Steve Senes demonstrates how easy it is to dial in a sound similar to Eddie Van Halen's celebrated "Brown Sound" with the Senes Modded Marshall DSL100. All overdrive is from the amp & no overdrive pedals were used. Speakers used are Warehouse Guitar Speakers Veteran 30's & HM75's loaded in an X-pattern & loaded in a 1979 Marshall 4x12" cab. The cab is mic'd with (2) Sennheiser e609 Silver mics & recorded with Apple Logic Pro. Guitar used is an ESP LTD EC1000 w/Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge & 59 in the neck position.

Custom Modified for Brad Whitford of Aerosmith - "The Mod is best described as our Mid-Drive Mod™, which is what I would call 'Vintage High Gain.' IE: The amp retains the tone of a plexi but has more gain on tap for improved sustain, harmonic content as well as legato passages. You can set the amp up for a nice rhythm or lead tone and then roll down the guitar’s volume knob to clean up the tone. Over all, if you are in standard tuning and are using 10ga strings, the amp feels like your using 8ga or 9ga strings. It's very smooth and easy-to-play but it also retains a great rich-n-chunky low end. Very inspiring to play on! Free Tech Tip! - You would be surprised how many times we see this so we wanted to post this here; We do not recommend gluing the knob onto the shaft of any control pot. Often times excess glue causes the control shaft to stock or freeze in place and/or not function properly.

 

Most replacement knobs tend to run $2- $5 which is more cost effective verses replacing a control pot(s) on a majority of amplifiers and other musical related products (costs can range from $35 - $75 or more). Replacement knobs can be purchased through your local tech (support your local repair shops!) as well as through a variety of online parts retailers.
